Can I add more than one picture at a time into the material bank?
Certainly, and it is very common to do so. A user can upload one or more files either by dragging them into the application or by selecting them through the file manager. File metadata can also be added from a single view - this makes things easier for instance when the uploaded images share same data. Copying metadata from one picture to another can also be done in the importing phase with just one click.
